Left a career in information technology to become a stay-at-home after my second was born. This rekindled a love of the outdoors and started me on a quest to restore a small fragment of woods behind my house. Have zero formal training as an ecologist, botanist, zoologist, or any other ist. I’d describe myself as knowing quite a bit more than the average person on the street and quite a bit less than the many professionals lurking on iNat.

My kids would describe me as a middle-aged man fumbling around in the woods, discovering plants that have already been discovered. They have a point.

Really enjoy seeing how software, in the form of iNat, is connecting people with similar interests and passion. It connects my former career with a lifelong interest.
