World Auchenorrhyncha Database (as of Aug. 2024) adopts the name Tosena melanopteryx Kirkaldy, 1909 for what was "Cicada (Tosena) melanoptera White, 1846". This is a primary homonym of Cicada melanoptera Gmelin, 1789). The paper by Kirkaldy, 1909 gives a replacement name as "113. Tosensa albata Distant var. melanopteryx, nom. nov. = melanoptera White".

If thinning a parent results in more than 10 unintended disagreements, you
should split the parent after swapping the child to replace existing IDs
of the parent (B) with IDs that don't disagree.
