Annual Yosemite Meadows Project Seeking Volunteers.

Nature Corps, a nonprofit volunteer conservation organization, is offering a rare opportunity to go behind the scenes with the National Park Service to help restore Yosemite Valley’s beautiful meadows. The next ‘voluntour’ is scheduled for Sept. 6 through 8 and is dedicated to helping the Park Service implement the Merced River Restoration Plan.

Celebrate the National Park Service’s 103rd birthday with free entrance to all its 419 parks and sites.

To celebrate its 103rd birthday, the NPS is waiving entrance fees to all national park sites across the U.S. on August 25. It’s one of five fee-free days in 2019 (the two remaining ones are National Public Lands Day on September 18 and Veterans Day on November 11).

More than 400 bears hit by cars in Yosemite. Here’s what park is doing to save wildlife.

In an effort to keep more from being injured and killed, the California park announced Thursday that it has designated some areas along park roads where bears and other animals have been hit as new Wildlife Protection Zones.
