More Butterflies

As the weather warms up and the plants start to bloom, more butterflies and skippers are making an appearance. We put some annuals - marigolds, zinnias, and cosmos - in the Butterfly Garden at Oahe Downstream last Sunday. It definitely gave the garden some color, but the butterflies and skippers are loving it. Most of the dandelions that bumble bees were feeding on are now finished blooming.

Gorgone Checkerspot butterfly is a common small butterfly we get in our area. The Common Sootywing Skipper was in the garden too yesterday.

Please consider putting some flowering plants in your yard for the pollinators. The pollinators are fun to watch.
