WINNER! Land for Wildlife iNaturalist autumn competition

Thank you everyone who participated in our first iNaturalist competition for the Land for Wildlife - City of Gold Coast project!

It was a tight competition with two landholders neck-and-neck.

The winner will be contacted shortly to claim their nest box and all landholders will be sent an email to announce the winner officially and to expand on the competition.

The most number of species recorded, over the competition period was insects, with 100 recorded :-)

Well done to the ten landholders who participated in the competition.

Kind Regards,

Conservation Partnerships Program Team

Welcome to the Land for Wildlife - City of Gold Coast iNaturalist Project

Thank you for contributing to the Land for Wildlife - City of Gold Coast iNaturalist Project.

This project is for fellow Land for Wildlife (LfW) members in the City of Gold Coast to post media (photos, sound, video) to the project and attempt to identify it.

What a great time to be launching this project when it's starting to warm up, the fauna are active and plants are in flower.

Conservation Partnerships Officers and fellow LfW members will help identify your observations, or suggest an alternative species and why they don't agree. To learn how to upload your observation by using your phone, visit https://www.inaturalist.org/pages/video+tutorials. Observations can also be added to the iNaturalist website at https://www.inaturalist.org/home

‘Happy wildlife observing everyone!’

Regards,
Conservation Partnerships Team
