Goldenrod Galls

I confess I have been completely ignoring this project in favor of leafminers, but I wanted to point out this great post on goldenrod galls by @ddennism:

Most informative. I plan to refer back to this as needed. However I’d entitle it“The Secret Life of Goldenrod Galls.”🌼

It wouldn't hurt for me to look it over again :)

So this may not be the place for it, but was the only place I could leave a comment. I found this interesting observation but I don't know the host plant. I didn't want to pass it up though so I entered it under Dicot.... is that inappropriate? I see lots of galls as I go through unknowns, but most of them are unremarkable so I let them pass by unless I can ID the plant.

I also found this video which I think is fantastic!

I posted about this podcast on Twitter and just listened to it again: “The Field Guides” podcast is produced by a pair of knowledgeable & entertaining naturalists creating outstanding content since Sep/2015 on a nearly monthly basis. I just re-listened to Ep. 01 - Goldenrod Galls:
