Is this for Ottawa? I'm not near Ottawa, but I could look.

Hi all, my apologies to anyone who didn't want to me notified! I tagged everyone who contributed to this week's "City Nature Challenge" in the National Capital Region (not just Ottawa), assuming they had some interest in the event. Rest assured there is not a "list", and I will make note that you aren't following the event.
Regards,
Heather
Great work on this @hacole! My thinking on the most interesting observations is that out of the roughly 2700 observations, nearly half of them are plants (about 1150). Not bad Ottawa-Gatineau for a time when almost nothing is in flower and leaves haven't appeared yet!
@hacole What is purpose of providing observations to you. Is this for a specific regional project or something worldwide? I'm just wondering why I was on this list and how the data will be used. Thanks.
:) Thanks @jpage_cwf ! I wonder how many of our plant records are 'evidence' from last year..... ;) I am really happy for the umbrella project your side set up for tracking within Canada, and REALLY excited to see all our project's "research grade" observations! I want to see the statistics for that!
Hi @ryruther, we are in the middle of a global "city nature challenge" you can find more info here https://citynaturechallenge.org/. All observations in the National Capital Region between April 24-27 are included in the challenge and we have one week to complete uploads and identifications before the results across the over 200 cities participating will be tallied. The global organizers have asked the cities to share (optionally) some of their most interesting observations. I made the (incorrect) assumption that all iNaturalist users who had submitted observations and identifications for this project since April 24, knew that it was happening, and would be interested in sharing their opinion (this is where I would have found your name; as an observer/identifier on an observation made in the NCR between April 24-27). I didn't mean to tag folks who weren't already actively 'participating'. Happy for your contributions! (we are currently in third place of Canadian participating cities (behind Calgary and Halifax :( stats here: https://inaturalist.ca/projects/city-nature-challenge-canada-2020-defi-nature-urbaine)
