The Washington Metropolitan Area has participated annually since 2017. Dozens of environmental organizations, parks, libraries, nature centers, and other local groups help spread the word and incorporate iNaturalist into events. There are many ways to be involved and many ways to collaborate with other organizations.

We have outreach materials in Spanish, encourage bilingual events, and welcome other ideas for broadening participation.

Hope you can join us to learn more, or spread the word!

Hi! My name is Kristen and I am an organizer for the City Nature Challenge in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico. I was hoping you could share your outreach materials in Spanish with me, if they are for educators. I am currently organizing a BioBlitz and workshop for teachers and am looking for materials they can use in the classroom to encourage their students to participate and get outside! My email address is kristenlynnfrancis@gmail.com. Thank you for your time!

Hi @kristen163! The main thing we have in Spanish right now is a postcard that shows the dates and gives an overview, so it's not really directed at teachers. However, this Bioblitz guide in Spanish from National Geographic might be useful: https://media.nationalgeographic.org/assets/file/2019_BioBlitz_Guide_Spanish-Final_.pdf

Thank you, @carrieseltzer , it is useful!! Please let me know if you find or create anything else, and I will too!

@lhiggins maybe you could add this NG resource to the teacher's toolkit :)
