LA’s Mountain Lions Are Not Fireproof.

The recent big fire closed canyon passes and the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, to continue this natural destruction. The size and scope of the fire damage to the environment, and the wildlife habitat, is hard to imagine.

Badly burned bear cub rescued, recovering.

PARADISE — An emaciated bear cub found Wednesday in Yankee Hill is likely a Camp Fire survivor, due to the severe burns found on his paws and the conspicuous absence of his mother, said Henry Lomeli, a biologist for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife.

Adorable mountain lion kittens born in Sonoma County park.

It's not quite spring, but there are already signs of new life in Sonoma County. Two tiny mountain lion kittens were caught on research cameras in Trione-Annadel State Park near Santa Rosa.

Disease may be killing California desert bighorn sheep.

A new survey has found a sharp decline in desert bighorn sheep in Southern California, and biologists suspect the cause is a disease contracted from domestic animals.

Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care takes in emaciated bear cub found near Paradise.

Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care has taken in a third bear cub in the span of a month.

The cub, named Paradise, was received March 21 — nine days after two cubs found on the side of a road near Yreka, California, were delivered to the wildlife rehabilitation center in South Lake Tahoe.
