Congratulation to YOU!

Marine Life of Victoria has just clicked over the 15,000 observation and most awesomely 1000 species. Sure, we all know that there are so many more observations to be made (or just taken off our hard drives! - I am guilty of this) and so many more species to be discovered. However, we need to stop and celebrate the small wins.
Thanks to everyone who has added images to this project, we are creating an incredible resource for so many people to learn more about what we have at our doorstep. Take a moment, give yourself a pat on the back and get excited about discovering and documenting the next 1000 species together.

Cheers,
Kade

Fantastic achievement Kade in a relatively short time. Just shows how many people are out there observing & posting. All the best to all the observers & identifiers. Let’s keep it up. Congratulations. Ken

👏🏻👏🏻 Excellent! 1000 species is a good effort so far.
1400 by March is a good realistic goal to reach, it just means big adventures ahead and exploration of the archipelagos @ Nooramunga Marine & Coastal Park, Portland, The Lakes, Various Estuaries & Brackish water may be required to meet the objective.

No more excuses for me, it's time to plan Big Adventures and meet that Goal of 1400 species head-on.

Thanks for the support @ken_flan , I love seeing your daily forays into the bay. @w_martin I love the ambitious target! I can't wait to see your images from your big adventures. If you find yourself over Phillip Island way let me know, I have just moved to the area and am keen to explore.

Will do, I tend to dive Kitty Miller many times during Summer.
I also purchased a very old tiny a few weeks ago, the hull is very thick almost twice the thickness of todays boats and can should be able to survive a run-in with the flat oysters. It should last me though summer until I do it up after the diving season.

What areas are you planning to explore around Phillip Island?

Hey @w_martin I have a few places I would like to/have been told to check out - Kitty Miller is amongst them, San Remo, Pyramid Rock, seagrass beds on the sheltered side & around Cape Woolamai (chasing Dragons) to name a few. Catching up with a local diver today, so will likely add a few more. get in touch when your coming to town.
