CNC 2020 Preparations have Begun!

We're just starting the preparations for CNC 2020 Ann Arbor! If you are interested in helping out, drop us a note in a comment. We're not sure what all the roles may be, but we'll probably want to generate advertising materials, organize hikes & other events before and during the CNC, host/facilitate ID parties, and much more, taking very little to somewhat more time/effort. Join us to make the 2nd Ann Arbor/Washtenaw County CNC a success!

I am definitely interested in helping with this. I am familiar with iNaturalist (have about 500 species posted there) and have been using the SEEK app since last fall which is useful for some things, but not all. It looks like the area to be covered includes all the way west to Chelsea? Let me know.

@michiganhummingbirdguy That's awesome news :-) Yes, anywhere in Washtenaw county is fair game. Would you be interested in being a resource for those who use SEEK? Either answering questions online and/or doing something during the tutorial webinar we have scheduled, or even in person on any walks? I'm not asking you to devote you life to this lol - I don't have anyone yet who knows SEEK and I don't use it. I'd see it mainly as outlining how it's different from the iNat app, why you like it, and briefly how to use it in the field. My co-organizer, Meija, and I will be doing the same for the regular iNat apps, and probably the PC iNat version for those who mostly want to ID. Thanks for reaching out! Kit.

@michiganhummingbirdguy P. S. Don't forget to subscribe to the site by clicking the button on the upper right of the main page. That way you'll get regular updates. Or not :-)

I thought that I had clicked the "join" button already. Is there something else I need to do? I don't seem to have the site URL any more. I don't know if I have much to contribute about SEEK, but I find that it works well for insects and plants, but is not very good with vertebrates.

Here's the url https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/city-nature-challenge-2020-ann-arbor You can always find it again by going to Projects in the Community dropdown and searching on Ann Arbor. To join, when you click the Join button, it takes you to a second page, where you have to click another button at the bottom to confirm it. And every bit of knowledge is welcome :-)

OK, that's what I did before, and I am listed as a member of the project.
