I am a botanist that studies plant systematics, evolution, biogeography, and taxonomy. I study plants in the Malvaceae subfamily Byttnerioideae (the chocolate family), especially the genus Ayenia. I'm also interested in milkweeds (Apocynaceae), the flora of South Florida, the flora of the Caribbean, and dry tropical habitats.
