I am a plant community ecologist at Manaaki Whenua -- Landcare Research, in Lincoln, New Zealand. I spend way too much time on computers and not enough time in the field. I'm interested in all plants, everywhere I go. I came to New Zealand in 1993 having originally come from the United States. In the US I lived on the East Coast, in Maryland, upstate New York and North Carolina. I am the President of the International Association for Vegetation Science and have enjoyed field excursions in many diverse locations around the world.
