I am a dedicated, knowledgeable and enthusiastic conservation scientist with good project management skills. Now I'm doing my Post Doc on urban ecology in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. I did my PhD on the subject of how different environment matrixes affect bird movements in University of Guangxi, China. I completed my master’s degree in Ecology in the Animal Behavior in Changing Environments Group at the Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). My main subject areas are conservation biology and ecology. During my Masters my primary focus was on how forest fragmentation and its location affect birds (including nocturnal birds) and herpetofauna. In the future, I want to focus more on landscape ecology and the community ecology of animals. I have represented a few Sri Lankan national level expert panels in several taxa, including mammals, birds and spiders. Simultaneously, I’m working on the complete database and a book on Sri Lankan biodiversity.
