I have had an interest in small creatures since childhood and enjoy photographing what I find. I have also raised stick insects and caterpillars and kept praying mantises and frogs.
I find keeping and studying some creatures can be very interesting and educational.
I am interested in all wildlife and devoted more time to learning about and photographing birds in more recent years. I enjoy teaching children about the animals and plants that are all around us and encouraging curiosity about them rather than fear or dislike of some of those known commonly as creepy crawlies. I believe in my time as a teacher that I was able to achieve this goal.
It is great to be able to contribute as a citizen scientist by providing photos and information about sightings and learn from those with more education and experience in this area.
