I am currently interested in and studying the biology and ecology of the microorganisms in the Caloosahatchee River estuary in Cape Coral, FL. I have a BS in microbiology but worked in a different career. Now retired, I have rekindled my interest in science. I volunteer for the NOAA Phytoplankton Monitoring Network and take weekly water samples to identify target organisms (primarily cyanobacteria) but also to monitor all types of phytoplankton and zooplankton in my estuary.

In addition to the study of plankton I have begun studying entomology. Have been collecting and identifying insects for 6 months and have a collection og over 2000 specimens (pinned and dry mounted and liquid preserved).
