My main interest and focus is Monarch Butterflies. I raise them from eggs laid on milkweed in my yard.
I have learned from hands-on experience, ongoing research, and from mentors online.
I tag the butterflies I raise, and test for an infestation known as O.e. disease. I view my own test samples with digital microscope.
Ironically, I am allergic to milkweed plants. ( of all things to become allergic to it's the host plant of Monarch butterflies)
I encourage those I know to look around, to see what other insects/birds they may have in their yard.
I've always had an interest in all of these different components of nature, but after becoming disabled, that interest shifted into my main passion.
