An avid amateur Paleontologist/Malacologist/Marine Biologist from Auckland, New Zealand.

What I am on Inaturalist: Identifier/observer of Molluscs, editor of the icon of species.

I am 14 years old and I have lived in Japan for 12 years until I came to New Zealand where I currently live.

I have been very interested in paleontology since I was 5 years old, and my interest extended to malacology, which is the study of recent and fossil molluscs (the group including shells and octopuses).
I am also interested in general Zoology (Echinodermology etc) and Botany, Mineralogy and Geology.

I love exploring intertidal shores at low tide mainly to find Molluscs and Echinoderns.

・All rights reserved: All photos were taken and edited by me. If someone would use my photographs for any purposes, please send me a message before using.

・ I mainly post uncommon or interesting species which is not often observed by other observers, instead of common species which can be observed by other people.
Please be aware about it when you see my obs. It means there is no proportional between the rarity of the species and the number of my observations of species. (e.g. I have only one observation of a species which is very common and very easy to find, even though I have multiple observation of a very rare species)

・Feel free to correct me if I made any mistakes in English as it is my second language :)

The list of groups I mainly identify: Worldwide Molluscs, especially Tonnoidea, Cypraeidea, Conidae, and all sorts of Molluscs (except micro landsnails) found in New Zealand, Japan and Australia.

Feel free to mention(@) me for identification or correction. I am generally weak at Land Snails.

This is a list of places you might find me observing molluscs:
Whau River in Avondale/Auckland, Northern Manukau Harbour intertidal coasts, Meola Reef in Waitemata Harbour, Omaha Cove Leigh, Pakiri Beach.

An article about deep water fauna and environment of a formation formed in middle Pleistocene(Chibanian) I have co-authored in 2017 (I was in charge of collecting, preserving, identifying of deep-water mollusc fossils from the formation): https://www.fujimu100.jp/app/files/uploads/2018/05/Tokai-shizenshi11-01.pdf
