Most likely this species rather than C. nana, as the stems were fairly stout. A reasonable sized cluster of plants on an exposed dry ridge.

Fairly common in subalpine shrubland and tussock grassland.

A very large old plant. Plenty in wider area

Scattered remnant trees that have survived past fires. These are some of the few large native trees in the catchment.

Found under a boulder on river terrace

Either Waiharakeke or South Marlborough grass skink. Very sluggish due to cold morning.

One very sluggish weta found in frosty conditions at the bottom of a significant bluff system. This is the first of this species I've seen in the area.

A decent sized pod with at least 5 individuals, but possibly more. One large male and at least one juvenile present
