Pretty sure a beaver broke out of the ice here and left a pile of plant material on the snow. However, there is also a patch of what looks like bloody urine on the snow, which I haven't seen at any other sites of beaver activity. Does anyone know if beavers leave blood on the snow like this, or was this more likely a coyote in estrus?
