Currier Reservation Nature Walk, Oct. 11 2020

I went on a nature walk at Currier Reservation in Westwood, Mass. The weather was a bit chilly but the sun was shining so it was a good day for a walk. I saw lots of different types of plants, including some interesting mosses. I also saw some pine trees and some different types of vines and ferns. There weren't too many animals to see since it's a pretty small forest, but it was still cool to see all the different types of plants. It was interesting to see how this trail looked different when the seasons changed (I've been to this trail many times). The fall colors were in full swing but there were still many diverse plants that you could look at. Overall, this was a very successful nature walk and I definitely recommend this trail for its beauty and diversity.

Lowell Woods Walk, Oct. 4 2020

I went on a nature walk at Lowell Woods in Westwood, Mass. The weather was perfect at about 70 degrees. In terms of fungi, I saw common lichen on many trees along the trail. I did not find other examples of fungi other than that, but it was still cool to see the how the lichen varied in size and appearance. I made sure to include some pictures of how beautiful the trail looked since there were so many different colors of autumn leaves that had fallen. There were other interesting and unique plants that I got to see along the trail and overall everything was extremely peaceful in the autumn air. I would definitely recommend this trail to any locals or anyone willing to take a 20 minute ride south.

Houghton Garden Walk, Sept. 30 2020

I went on a nature walk at Houghton Garden on Suffolk Rd. near campus in Newton. The weather was about 70 degrees so it was perfect for a walk after class. I saw a lot of different plants but also a few animals and some algae. The chipmunk was especially cute. There were a lot of different paths to take and the fall colors looked really pretty against the water. Definitely a perfect spot for a nature walk.
