I've never seen so many spiders in my life! There were a gazillion of them on the Bay Trail near the Sunnyvale water treatment plant. I'm sure they've always been there, but I've never actually looked for them. That's the beauty of iNaturalist.org. It opens our eyes to so much life that's all around us if we just take a few minutes to look.

There were so many Tussock Moth caterpillars this spring! I'm just getting around to reviewing and documenting my findings.

"The full-grown western tussock moth larva is 1.5 to 2 inches in length, generally gray in color with numerous colored spots, four prominent white tufts of hair on its body, and two black tufts on its head and one on its posterior end."
