Time: 10:00am - 11:30am
Location: Curtis Pond (Maple Corner), Calais, Vermont
Habitat: White Pine tree stand near a manmade pond
Weather: 56 degrees Fahrenheit, mostly sunny, little wind or cloud coverage, short bout of rain lastly roughly 5-10 minutes.

1 Blue Jay
1 Yellow-bellied Flycatcher
1 Downy Woodpecker
1 Great Blue Heron
2 Yellow-rumped Warbler (1 male, 1 female)
5 Mallard (1 male, 1 female, 3 juvenile (or perhaps small females))

American Crow seen flying overhead. Only 1 today.

1 adult male and 1 adult female hopping around a small sugar maple. Actively singing.

Description

Spotted hanging around the shallows. It was so still I couldn't really see it until it took off in a low flight across the water to the other side of the pond.

Got very close to this Downy. He was hoping around, exploring a honeysuckle pecking at the bark but not staying on any one branch for too long.

Description

Caught a quick glimpse of this small guy jumping around on the ground before flying in a North western direction. Was surprised to see as I would have thought they would have already migrated through this area.

Description

Lone Blue Jay heard close by. Nice and noisy, put on a performance when it started to rain.
