Greenlake Observations and Community Science
I think community science can contribute to ecologically restoration by monitoring invasive or foreign species of plants. For example, I found genus herdera ivies at Green lake but they are native to Europe, NW Africa, and central-southern Asia. I see them nearly everywhere I go when looking for them around Seattle which means that they are extremely good at spreading. They undoubtedly out-compete some endemic plant life that could have an important ecological role. Through community science, we can do better at ensuring that our ecosystems have what they by removing invasive plants.
