About Trametes versicolor

More research has been done on Trametes versicolor than any other mushroom species for medicinal qualities. Polysaccharide Krestin (PSK), which is obtained from the mycelium, shows improvement of immune functions, antiviral effects, and cholesterol-regulating effects. Furthermore, there is improved quality of life after surgery when administered with chemotherapy, and extended 5 and 10 year survival rates particularly for those diagnosed with colorectal and stomach cancers. Even though safety issues have not been extensively studied, they seem to be mostly neglected because no side effects have been published yet.
