Amphiachyris dracunculoides
The field just inside the fence for the Willis Creek WMA off of FM971 was full of Amphiachyris dracunculoides, as it usually is in the fall. However, since the cows were grazing that area, I had to take observations of a plant outside the fenceline. Most plants were probably past flower or close to the end of it. The one I recorded was about 75cm tall. The size of the plant and the corymbiform arrays are indicative of A. dracunculoides rather than A. amoena. Other characteristics seemed less conclusive. The lone seed was setulose, but hard to tell if long or short. The receptacles appeared glabrous, but they are very difficult to photograph.
