Found the sparrows on the street. It’s trying to find food
Ursus americanus floridanus female with cubs.
Male (note hemipenis visible). Subspecies unsure of. Second one found within one month, dead on road within 4km of one another. Note: both specimens collected and submitted to UF Museum of Natural History herp collection with proper permits. 1st snake only 41cm, 2nd (individual in photo) measured at 4ft 3.5in. Local logging/clearing was in progress nearby at same time.
Subadult, only about 9cm in plastron straight length. Sighting reported to FWRI.
